help me with my math problem?
Monday, August 31st, 2009In a poll of 280 high school students, it is found that 65 like brussels sprouts, 98 like broccoli, 57 like cauliflower, 28 like both brussels sprouts and broccoli, 23 like both brussels sprouts and cauliflower, 24 like both broccoli and cauliflower and 13 of the students like all three vegetables.
How many of the 280 students do not like any of these three vegetables?
60 is not the answer

About bone marrow donation?
Monday, August 31st, 2009Hi all–
I’d really like to become a bone marrow donor, but I’ve hear that the donor has to pay for the pretesting kit. I don’t think it’s very much, about $60. I know it’s a long and arduous process, and I also know that the donor doesn’t get paid for it, and I’m ok with that. It’s something that I really want to do, but most weeks I’m lucky to even have $60 to spend on groceries, lol.

Does anyone know if you have to pay for any part of the procedure, or if there’s a waiver? I live in NYC if that makes any difference.
Also, is there anyone who has donated marrow? What was it like for you?

Did I eat a good amount today? I’m on a diet?
Sunday, August 30th, 2009I’m not much of a breakfast eater.
So this morning I had a small gala apple, and coffee with splenda and a little bit of milk.
And a few bites of my friend’s french toast at school.

And a few bites of my friend’s french toast at school.
Then for lunch, I had a ham sandwich on wheat bread with ketchup. And A LOT of brocolli and cauliflower.
I went to cross country practice.
Then came home, and had about 3/4 cup of egg beaters (about 90 calories), and one boca burger with ketchup on both for dinner.
Was this a good amount of food for today? About how many calories do you think that was?
Thank you guys!

Saturday, August 29th, 2009need more protein in my diet?
Saturday, August 29th, 2009asked earlier but would like more options/opinions:
i’m 23 weeks pregnant- i need to incorporate more protein in my diet. my diet mainly consists of fruit and milk- and maybe one serving of protein a day (yesterday i had turkey dogs, the day before i didn’t eat any meat or protein based food that i can think of). my problem is that a lot of meat does not appeal to me lately… i can’t hardly stand the sight of beef or chicken, but i will eat turkey and pork (yeah i know weird), and not all the time will i eat that. i’ve even lost the taste for peanut butter which i used to eat everyday. i do not like tofu and never have… so what other ways can i add protein? i’m going to try to eat more turkey and pork, but i’m at a loss on what else to add outside of nuts. i do not like beef, chicken, tofu, soybeans, eggs– i’m kinda picky. help me find ways to get more protein in my diet. i’m staying ravenously hungry and always reach for fruit or milk when i’m feeling hungry…
