in need of a recipe for picky children?

Sunday, October 4th, 2009

I am babysitting 3 very picky children one day this weekend and I am in need of a child friendly meal for dinner that does not contain any of the following items…

ground beef
pork chops
saurkraut
tomatoes (or tomato sauce)
green beans
chicken legs (but will eat chicken breast)
cottage cheese
macaroni and cheese
hot dogs
nuts (of any type)
leafy greens
mozzerella cheese
mushrooms
zucchini
squash
eggplant
eggs
and they dislike those easy boxed dinners and store bought bread.

any help is highly appreciated!

I got organic soil and manure from the store. The thing is I’m really not sure how much of each thing i need. I’m trying to grow cucmbers, yellow squash, zucchini, chives, and green beans. Someone please help!! As soon as i get rid of the mice I would like to start.

Electric Garden Fence?

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

I’ve been having a problem with raccoons and woodchucks. Last year, they stole over half of my tomatoes and all my watermelons, zucchini, and sweet corn leaving only my peppers. Repellents such as hair, fox urine and capascin or bitter sprays have not worked for me. They keep out the deer and rabbits, but the raccons and woodchucks are smart enough to overcome both them and my Hav-a-Hart trap. I’ve been thinking about purchasing an electric garden fence. Has anyone had any experience with these? Are they worth the cost?

Locusts in Florida, my garden is suffering?

Friday, August 14th, 2009

I planted a beautiful garden, was admiring my watermelons, butternut squash, yellow squash, and zucchini one day and the next they were eaten to the bottom. All gone. They are slowly moving into my beans and peas. Won’t touch tomatoes though. I tried sevin dust and other sprays. Is there any other options, store bought or homeade. I almost cried over this b/c of our hard work!

I know they can eat zucchini, but what else? Can they eat fruit?

What are some other things that are actually fruit but we dont act knowledge them as fruit?

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

I know that pumpkins, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans, walnuts, pinecones are all technically fruit since a fruit is the ripened ovary together with seeds of a flowering plant.

When adding vegetables to lasagna?

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

I might try to add zucchini or eggplant slices to my lasagna. Do I need to cook it first? I’m thinking of making meatballs on the side, & keeping the ground meat out. Would spinach work here too? Canned or fresh or frozen?
